    What is Pre-Australs 2008?
    Pre-Australs 2008 is a tournament that aims to provide the final training ground for participants who will be attending the upcoming Ateneo Australs. To be held this coming June 28-30, 2008 at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, the country's premier national university, Pre-Australs 2008 will feature five preliminary rounds, one quarterfinal, semifinal and final round to provide the most comprehensive simulation of the competitive tournament experience that is the Austral-asians tradition.

    Who are we?
    The University of the Philippines Debate Society (UPDS) is the official representative of the country's premier national university, University of the Philippines Diliman, to local and international debate tournaments and public speaking competitions. It is currently based in the UP School of Economics.

    The UPDS has been in the top rank of local and international tournaments for more than a decade. Besides its several championships, members of the UPDS have consistently and prominently figured among the finalist teams, best speakers, and best adjudicators in every competition we have joined.

    The UPDS is the host of the annual Philippine Inter-Collegiate Debating Championship (formerly the Inquirer Inter-Collegiate Debating Championship), which is a national Asian parliamentary championship.
